Through my journey of deep thinking, healing, and spiritual exploration, the moon has become a powerful symbol—a quiet, yet profound reminder of the natural rhythms that guide us all. My connection to the moon isn’t about worshipping it, but honoring it as part of a greater, divine creation that reflects the hands of the Creators.
The Moon as a Divine Mirror
For centuries, cultures around the world have looked to the moon as a guide, using its cycles to mark time, celebrate rituals, and reflect on the flow of life. I believe there is something sacred about aligning ourselves with these natural rhythms—the waxing, the fullness, the waning. Each phase offers us an opportunity to set intentions, to grow, to reflect, and ultimately, to release.
For me, the moon represents the balance of both masculine and feminine energy. It’s an invitation to embrace intuition, inner wisdom, and the power of letting go. In many spiritual practices, the moon is seen as a symbol of the feminine divine—a counterpart to the sun’s masculine energy. Together, they represent the full spectrum of creation, and this balance feels deeply aligned with my personal beliefs.
Honoring the Creator Through Personal Power
Growing up, I was taught to believe in a higher power outside of myself—a God who existed beyond the earth and my spirit. While I still honor the Creator and find comfort in parts of the Bible, I have come to realize that the divine isn’t just out there somewhere. It flows through all of us. It lives in the cycles of the moon, the rhythm of a menstrual cycle, the rising of the sun, the crowning of a baby's head during birth, and yes, in the breath and heartbeat of every living being.
When I say I believe in the energy of the moon, what I really mean is that I believe in the energy of the Creator expressed through the moon’s natural cycles. I believe in the divine spark within each of us—the ability to co-create, to manifest, and to live in harmony with the universe. Recognizing my own power isn’t a rejection of the Creator; it’s an act of honoring the divine source that made me. It’s about seeing myself not as separate from God/Goddess, but as an extension of that divine energy.
The Sacred Practice of Release
With each full moon, I take a moment to reflect on what I am holding onto—fears, doubts, and patterns that no longer serve me. Under the light of the full moon, I feel the gentle nudge to release these things. It’s a practice rooted in ancient traditions but one that I have also taken as my own. I honor the Creator’s design and the natural prompt it gives me to let go, reset, and step into my power.
There is unity in aligning ourselves with these rhythms. It’s a reminder that just as the moon waxes and wanes, we too, have seasons of growth, fullness, and release. By tuning into these cycles, I feel more connected to the divine flow of life and more in tune with my journey.
A Personal Invitation
This is why I share reflections here on Illuminated Noir. I believe that by embracing these natural rhythms and honoring both the masculine and feminine energies within us, we can find a deeper sense of balance, peace, and power.
So, as you read this, I invite you to take a moment to consider. What cycles or rhythms have you noticed in your own life? Is there something you’ve been holding on to that it might you might need to release? If you want, use this full moon as a prompt for reflection—I choose to do so and honor the Creator’s design and the divine energy that flows through us all.
I’m grateful to share this space with you as we navigate this mystical journey together. 🖤✨️✨️
